Federazione Italiana Gioco Go in collaboration with VenetoGo and with the patronage of the City of Este organises the XLIII Italian Go Championship.
The event will take place over four days from 29 October to 1 November 2022 in Este at the Aula Magna of the Ex Collegio Vescovile in Via Garibaldi 23.
The event is divided into three tournaments:
Open Tournament
Italian Championship Final
Chen Yangwei Tournament
The following rules apply in each tournament:
- Japanese Regulation.
- Handicap: reduced by 2 stones; max. 9 stones handicap; in the top bar there is no handicap.
- Round selection system: Mac Mahon with top bar set according to the number of registered players.
Player rank: determined according to the player's own acquired EGF score; for rank changes other than those planned, ask the referee.
If the referee verifies that during the tournament a player is clearly stronger than his assigned rank, he may change his rank for the remaining matches.
- Ranking: MMS, SOS, SODOS, POINTS, SCOREX, SCOREX.
Open Tournament
Class A Open Tournament valid for qualifying for the final.
5 timed games 1h 15 min + 3 x 30' byo-yomi.
There will be cash prizes for the first three absolute rankings:
1st prize: 70€
2nd prize: €50
2nd prize: 40€
The top 3 players will receive a commemorative plaque, an award will also be given to the player with the most matches won (excluding those who have already been awarded).
The tournament is valid for the awarding of travel points.
Final of the XLIII Italian Go Championship
Best-of-three final between the two best-placed Italian players in the Open Tournament.
Class A tournament.
Time games 1h 15 min + 3 x 30' byo-yomi.
The finalists will receive a commemorative plaque.
Chen Yangwei Tournament
Class C tournament to be held in parallel with the final.
5 timed games 30 min + 1 x 20 '' byo-yomi.
There will be cash prizes for the first three absolute rankings:
1st prize: 70€
2nd prize: €50
2nd prize: 40€
The top 3 players will receive a commemorative plaque, an award will also be given to the player with the most matches won (excluding those who have already been awarded).

Registration
To register for the tournament, you must be a FIGG member. Membership requires administrative verification, so we ask that you do this before the tournament, following the instructions below:
If you are already a member:
- Authenticate yourself in the member area
- Check the status of your membership in the Membership section: your FIGG membership card.
- If your membership is valid, you can register for the tournament by opening the registration page, also visible in the Championship drop-down menu.
- If your membership has expired, please follow the instructions below for non-members.
If you have never been a FIGG member, we ask you
- Go to the membership modalities page, visible from the Membership menu
- Follow the instructions and complete the membership
- At this point, you can follow the above procedure for members.
Registration for this tournament is open until 20 minutes before the start of the games.
