Fujitsu Grand Prix

The European Championship is the last tournament in the Fujitsu Grand Prix cycle 1995/1996 and the last chance for players to gain points for the Grand Prix Ranking and to qualify for the Fujitsu Finals in December. Already qualified are Guo Juan (Winner 1995), Rob van Zeijst (Runner-up 1995), Andrej Gomeniuk (Prague), Pierre Colmez (Paris), Dimitri Bogatskii (Budapest), Mark Boon (Amsterdam), Egbert Rittner (Hamburg) and Alexei Lazarev (Kaliningrad).

Two Europeans qualify in this tournament directly while another four places will be decided by a special ranking where only the best three results of every player is taken in account. Players already qualified are also left out from the following ranking:

5. Stefan Budig
