The Benefits of Playing Go

Everyone at school stopped me and asked, "Why do you play go?" My instant response was, "Because I like it." If I didn't like go, I wouldn't play, but there are many other reasons too.

Firstly my confidence grew, which was noticed by friends, family and teachers. Secondly my problem solving improved with all the life and death problems occurring in go. Playing go also is an example of life, because without thinking you have no control over your plans.

My favourite reasons for playing go are: I get to travel around the UK; I am now also travelling abroad; meeting new friends and socialising with old friends.

Go to me, is a big advantage. I had never taken any board game seriously, before I learnt to play go. Go is a brilliant game and I'm glad I went to my comprehensive school, The Brakenhale School, which gave me the chance!
