Living on a Terrace

I spend a lot of time on the terrace outside the bar. Firstly, I finish my game quickly, as I play intuitively (that is, I have never learned to think). Secondly, I am a pipe smoker, but love fresh air. So I know our terrace well.

Life there is puzzling. Why is there a carpet of cigarette ends, when ash trays are on the tables? Why do people abandon their plastic cups as readily as a dead group?

These problems are far too difficult for a 3 Kyu. It is easier to make a confession. A notice says “Don’t go on the terrace after 21:30.” I Broke the rule, because i just wanted to stand and smoke in silence. Unfortunately a group (of people, not stones) began to sing. Who did they think they were entertaining? Me? Themselves? Not the people in the houses opposite. Noise pollution is never welcome.

We are in a four star hotel. Go players surely have four star intelligence. What a pity we do not have four star manners!
