It seems that the future of go has already begun. On Tuesday evening a lot of players started playing go on the round board. Not only Guo Juan (7 Dan, Amsterdam/Netherlands) lost two times against the very happy Georg Ehlers (3 Dan, Berlin/Germany) also Saijo Sensei had a try and lost against Norbert Bittner (2 Kyu, Osnabrück/Germany). Even the help of other Kyu’s - “Sensei, your stones are on atari!” “Ahhh, atari!” - was not enough to gain a victory.
The difficulty is to realize the situation on the board because its geometry is so much different to a normal board.
