Torneo su KGS
|
Su KGS, il server su cui si tengono i corsi di Go
organizzati dalla Federazione, si terrà presto un torneo.
Per ragioni di fuso orario l'orario dei turni è alle volte
piuttosto scomodo, comunque ecco l'annuncio:
Announcing the KGS 2002 January Tournament
------------------------------------------
In January 2002 there will be a handicap tournament on
KGS. Entrance is free. Anybody with a registered KGS
account with a solid (non-?) rank as of Jan. 14, 2002
may enter.
The tournament will be broken into 3 sections: dan,
single digit kyu, and double digit kyu. Within each
division, all games will be handicap games, with
handicaps determined by the server. The maximum
handicap given in any game will be 9 stones.
The Schedule
------------
The tournament will be held on January 27 and January
28, 2002. Each entrant must pick their time group:
Early group:
Rounds will start at 3:00, 5:30, and 8:00 GMT on
Saturday, January 26
(that will be noon, 2:30, and 5:00 in Japan and
2:00PM, 4:30PM, and 7:00PM in Sydney Australia).
The final two rounds for the early group will be
at 3:00 and 5:30 GMT on January 27.
Late group:
Rounds will start at 15:00, 17:30, and 20:00 GMT
(noon, 2:30PM, and 5PM US Eastern time) on January
26. This will conclude the first day of the
tournament.
The final two rounds for the late group will be
at 15:00 and 17:30 GMT on January 27.
The Rules
---------
Please visit http://kgs.kiseido.com/en_US/tournRules.html
for details about the KGS tournament system. A summary
is below.
Each player will get one hour to play with no
byo-yomi time. If you fail to show up for your game
for any reason, your clock will start counting
down anyway! If your clock uses up the entire hour
and you never arrive, your opponent will be given a
win by forfeit and you will be removed from the rest
of the tournament rounds.
All games will be played by Japanese rules. If there
is a dispute over living and dead stones at the end
of any game, an admin will be on hand who will make
a final decision.
Each group will be a swiss-style tournament. That
means that even if you lose a game, you will still
be in later rounds. The player with the most wins
in each group will be the winner. Each division
will have two winners; one in the early group and
one in the late group. The early and late winners
in each division will meet in a sudden death
playoff to decide the ultimate winner for that
division.
Prizes
------
There will be four prizes in each division. Prizes
are good towards any merchandise listed on the Kiseido
Online Shop at http://www.kiseido.com/ :
Winner of each division: $30 Kiseido gift certificate
Second place: $20 Kiseido gift certificate
Third and fourth place: $15 Kiseido gift certificate
To Enter
--------
Send email to admin at i... with your account name on
KGS, your real name, and which group (early or late)
you want to join. The tournament pairings will be
published on KGS 15 minutes before each round begins.
