Go trip to China summer 2004

Michael Yao (4d Sweden, myao(6d) on kgs) and I are
organizing a go-trip/camp to China and Beijing, during this
summer. The trip is expected to last from the middle of
June to the middle of August, and it will be possible to
participate for 1 to 3 months or longer. We expect that
most participants will be interested in staying for 1 or 2
months.
The participants will first gather for some week to get to
know each other and to learn some basic Chinese (either in
Stockholm or Beijing, depending on the location of the
participants). During the stay in China, we will live
together in an apartment, and play go on a nearby go
school. There will be possibilities to visit professional
events, the Chinese go federation and for sightseeing in
the Peking area.
The total cost will be approximately 1350? for one month,
and 350? for each additional month. This includes all costs
except food (flight, visa, apartment, transport,
participation fee that will pay some costs for the
organizers). The main part of this cost will be payed to
the organizer some month before departure, and we will make
the practical arrangements. The
food will cost an additional 100?-300? / month, depending
on where and how you eat. We may also ask that you arrange
your own visa if you don't depart from Sweden. Of course,
we will do our best to help you with the visa arrangements.
We prefer if the participants register and pay a
participation fee of 220? before the 15th of March. This
will guarantee your participation. The latest date for
paying this fee will be on the 30th of April. However, in
this case we can no longer guarantee you a place, and you
have to pay a late fee of ?60. If you have any conditions
on your participation, you may give these when you
register. To the extent it is possible, we will try to be
flexible when making arrangements, especially for those who
register early. However, we will have to fix a starting
date to make it possible to rent apartments for the
participants.
